As a primary manufacturer of conveyors, equipment, spare parts, and as a provider of field services technicians, Nercon Eng. & Mfg., Inc. (Nercon) is considered an essential business to support vital manufacturing operations of our customers located in Wisconsin as well as across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Many of our customers operate Critical Infrastructure Facilities, as defined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the President of the United States. On March 19, 2020, the federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) listed essential critical infrastructure workers during COVID-19 response to help State and Local officials as they work to protect their communities, while ensuring continuity of functions critical to public health and safety, as well as economic and national security. Because Nercon supplies to these critical industries, including food/beverage/personal care/paper/pharmaceutical/chemical/sanitation/medical devices, Nercon and all of our employees are recognized by the US Department of Homeland Security as workers essential critical infrastructure during COVID-19.
We will continue to operate our Wisconsin facilities throughout the duration of this pandemic. All of our employees have been instructed to comply with social distancing requirements. We can assure you that we are executing complete and rigorous protocols in our Nercon facilities, in order to minimize the risk of infection by COVID-19. In addition, Nercon continues to take the following actions to ensure quick, consistent, reliable and safe delivery of our products and support to our customers:
- We have contacted our key suppliers to monitor the status of product availability.
- We have also identified alternate suppliers and/or designs for our equipment in case a portion of the supply chain becomes temporarily interrupted.
- We have restricted visitor access to our facilities.
- We have restricted travel for our employees to only essential customer site visits.
- We are sanitizing our offices twice a week in addition to regular cleaning.
- Our work stations and cells in our manufacturing facility are separated as much as possible to ensure social distancing between employees.
- We are practicing social distancing and meetings are being held online or via phone instead of in-person.
