Reports To: Fabrication Manager

Summary:

Fabricators operate various machines including saws, punch press, press brake, router, deburring machines and lasers to produce parts for Nercon’s conveyor and material-handling equipment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible for set-up and operation of various fabrication equipment to include routers, press brakes, deburring machines, metal saws and lasers.
  • Read CAD drawings and work orders to fabricate parts to specifications.
  • Maintains safe operations and a clean, organized working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Safely operates material handling equipment including cranes and fork/pallet trucks

Qualifications:

  • Prior fabrication experience or a degree in a related field is desired.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong measuring and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings, shop orders, etc.
  • A valid driver’s license and pre-employment drug test is required.

Physical Requirements:

Level of physical exertion is medium. Required to bend, kneel, twist, squat, stretch, reach, climb ladders, and do overhead work.  Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.  Required to stand for extended periods of time.  Required to walk.

 

Environmental Requirements:

Inside average factory building – not uniformly heated or air-conditioned.  Exposed to grinding debris (eye protection required).  Other PPE required:  Safety shoes and hearing protection.  Face shield, breathing protection and protective gloves may be required for certain tasks.
